ALTIFIL is a great raw material for Kiln Furniture.

ALTIFIL can be used as a grog for kiln furniture shapes such as slabs, saggers, blocks and pins.

ALTIFIL prolongs the life of the furniture and lowers the maintenance costs. This cost savings can be attributed to ALTIFIL

excellent heat shock resistance,
low coefficient of thermal expansion,
low shrinkage and high resistance to deformation under load,
and a moderate to high PCE (pyrometric cone equivalent) of 30-32.

Specifications for this application stipulate that ALTIFIL should have a content of

18-20% Al2O3 and
total alkalis under 1%
