ALTIFIL when finely ground can be substituted for Talc in a number of applications including:

  • Rubber
  • Plastics
  • Paints
  • Cosmetics and
  • Jointing Compounds.

Product development is ongoing for many of these sectors. We have highlighted our success to date with research in the filler markets for Paint.

Paint Formula Replacements

TRE has been working with various paint manufacturers over the past year on formula replacements using ALTIFIL products. The results were amazing and clearly showed that not only is ALTIFIL an excellent replacement for PYRAX but ALTIFIL can also effectively replace other products such as:

  • NYTAL -
  • PULPRO
  • MINEX and
  • DIAFIL

Not only does ALTIFIL replace these raw materials -
ALTIFIL saved money and increased product quality.

Here are some specific examples that can be thoroughly tested.

White Super marine Undercoats – Alkyd
400 grams of ALTIFIL replaces

  • Pulpro 8 223.7 grams
  • Minex 4 235.4 grams
  • Diafil 570 23.5 grams

THAT IS 482.6 GRAMS IN TOTAL.

CEILING WHITE INTERIOR FLAT – LATEX
300 grams ALTIFIL replaces 300 grams TALC

WHITE EXTERIOR OIL – ALKYD
181 grams ALTIFIL replaces 189.6 grams TALC

WHITE EXTERIOR ACRYLIC – LATEX
134.5 grams ALTIFIL replaces 130 grams MINEX 4

TINT BASE EXTERIOR OIL
95.4 grams ALTIFIL replaces 92.2 grams MINEX 4

PASTEL BASE EXTERIOR ACRYLIC - LATEX
191 grams ALTIFIL replaces

  • NYTAL 300  81 grams
  • MINEX 7  110 grams
